The role
We are seeking an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic qualitative researcher to work on a qualitative evaluation of the Avon Knee Chart shared decision-making tool for osteoarthritis. The study aims to determine the feasibility of a full-scale evaluation in the future, and whether current local systems are able to support the tool. We will establish the acceptability of the tool to stakeholders including patients, clinicians and commissioners and their experience of implementing the tool into routine practice. As the post-holder you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering research that will benefit patients and the NHS.
What will you be doing?
As part of this programme of work funded by Research Capability Funding, you will contribute to the development of an ethics application, and will be responsible for conducting interviews with patient participants, healthcare professionals including GPs, physiotherapists, and orthopaedic surgeons, to evaluate the acceptability of the Avon Knee Chart, and its potential for implementation potential. As the post holder you will be responsible for data collection, analysis informed by the Theoretical Domains Framework, and write up and reporting of the findings from the study. As the post holder you will be supported by a research fellow (Dr Andrew Moore, line-manager) and multidisciplinary team of collaborators including methodologists, clinicians and commissioners. Career development training is available through the University's programme of courses, and you would be encouraged and supported to avail of these while in post.
You should apply if
