The role
We are seeking applications from highly motivated candidates to undertake the role of technician (research and teaching). The successful candidate under the direction of the senior technician will provide technical support for staff and students in the School of Psychological Sciences in using specialist software and experimental equipment. You will be expected to maintain and organise the equipment and software.
What will you be doing?
This post provides technical support for teaching and research activities associated with the School of Psychological Sciences and will help staff with the transition to online teaching and research. The post holder will help to maintain laboratory facilities and supplies (e.g., consumables), equipment maintenance schedules, and up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures that comply with appropriate health and safety requirements. The postholder will also provide support for in-person and online teaching and research studies, and assist the senior technician as and when required.
You should apply if
Relevant technical experience or work experience in a relevant technical role. Previous experience of working in Psychology or a relevant scientific environment. A clear understanding of Psychology teaching and research laboratory issues/considerations.

- Knowledge of British Psychological Society (BPS) guidance and procedures for human research.
