The role
The Student Funding team plays a key role in attracting a diverse range of students and supporting them to succeed. We administer and pay out over £40m of scholarships, bursaries and funds and support students by providing high quality advice and guidance about money issues. The Funding Manager will lead day-to-day operations, managing a team of nine advisers and administrators.

What will you be doing?
Over the next 12 months you'll:
- Help to develop and deliver a new model for the student advice elements of the service, as part of a more joined-up approach to delivering student support.
- Drive improvements in processes and systems to improve the user experience.
- Be accountable for the budgets allocated to you, ensuring that funds are effectively managed.
- Build strong relationships across a range of academic schools and professional services teams to influence and advise on funding-related issues.
- Effectively lead an experienced team of advisers and administrators, making the most efficient use of resources to deliver a high-quality service for students and stakeholders.

- You're great at building strong, effective relationships with the ability to influence at all levels.
- You have excellent management skills and build effective, dynamic teams.
- You have a good knowledge of financial management and are used to taking responsibility for large budgets.
- You are someone who can get up to speed quickly, thrives on digesting lots of information, is mindful of competing priorities, and can drive activity forward in a sustainable manner.
