The Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Post Doctoral Fellow. This position is responsible for the research output and activities of the Institute for the large-scale data analytic projects with the Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics group. The nature of the projects revolve around modeling and forecasting of physiological and behavioral dynamics in clinical settings and the aim is to promote proactive, seamless, and ubiquitous health management via objective state-of-the-art sensors measurements and knowledge acquisition using Artificial Intelligence. In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will: * Have strong technical skills and be eager to address scientific challenges and problems, and to be very dynamic. * Background to work on any project in the domains of signal processing and machine learning (particularly deep learning) and must demonstrate some previous experience with the related topics and have interest in multidisciplinary problems. * Conduct high quality, innovative research in the above-mentioned computational areas, developing mathematical and computational models, preparing and analyzing data, preparing and publishing scientific manuscripts, providing leadership and mentoring within our research groups (e.g. PhD students), and carrying out other research and professional service activities. * PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning or related field. * Published at least three (3) high quality papers during PhD (minimum eligibility requirement). * Research interest and expertise in one of the aforementioned areas of interest. * Excellent programming and software development skills (specifically the new Python base platforms for data analytic, including Tensorflow and Pytorch). * Demonstrated ability to work independently, as needed. * Commitment to working in a collaborative environment. * Be very dynamic and self-motivated. * Excellent writing skills of technical and research papers in English. * Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to deliver on challenging research tasks. * Involvement in high-quality scholarly activities (e.g., editorship in journals, TPC of conferences, demonstrated record of research collaboration/grants) is preferable.
