This PLS Excellence Manager role will have accountability and oversight of regional and global non-drug project PPLS specific initiatives, of varying complexity, for which GRO is owner or major stakeholder. Will evaluate existing processes and facilitate the collective strategic direction of a more effective future state and project manage implementation of new or revised processes that are driven by external guidelines, technologies and business strategy.

Another primary purpose of this position is to manage the business operations and communication strategies for the PLS organization within Global Regulatory Operations. (This organization includes a global workforce of 100+ colleagues and contractors across 11 countries & multiple vendor partnerships).

This individual will be a key driver of continuous business improvement. Specific activities include acting upon and delivering against GRA strategy through defining, participating in, and/or leading non drug specific projects primarily relating to Publishing and Product License Support. Partnering across the organization, acting as a change agent to define and meet evolving external and internal business needs.

This PLS excellence role will be responsible for completing, simultaneously, several projects identified by Leadership. Typical projects can include working on a business transformation, building new capabilities, increasing business efficiency efforts, re-designing complex processes or working on program management efforts for global/regional projects.

On behalf of the Head of PLS, the PLS Excellence manager will chair the PLS meetings and drive alignment on business strategies, goals in support of the PLS road map and our digital agenda.

This role provides leadership for assigned projects/activities that ensure optimum execution of general business operations. This may serving as a point of contact with Finance and Procurement.

This position is accountable for generating and implementing innovative ideas to further develop the communication strategy and transparency within PLS and partnering groups.

In addition, the incumbent may represent Pfizer on Industry working groups that focus on the development or evolution of business practice.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Support the delivery of the Publishing & Product License Support Portfolio
  • Drive projects that impact the business use of technology used within Publishing and Product License
  • Support (PPLS) and oversee the implementation and integration of these technologies
  • Bring strong business analysis and effective project management practices to help to ensure the success of a broad variety of initiatives and projects
  • Ownership of Issue resolution for prescribed projects
  • Implement solutions through partnership with internal and external colleagues to ensuring compliance and alignment with business process, priorities, and requirements
  • Process development, decision making, and change management in the context of SOS
  • Lead (or actively participate in) cross-functional teams as appropriate
  • Matrix management of cross-functional teams as appropriate
  • Ensure that contribution to the work climate/culture exemplifies the Pfizer OWN IT culture
  • Knowledge share and educate personnel as appropriate on internal processes, agency requirements and guidelines
  • Development and maintenance of documented procedures and guidelines as necessary


QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in project management.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of/experience with Pfizer Commercial Portfolio
  • Have IT skills & hands on experience in tools like Sharepoint, Spotfire, Tableau or BI.
  • Have PMO/Project management skills &/or business transformation experience using lean/RPA/Six sigma method.
  • Demonstration of processes, tools and techniques for planning and monitoring multiple projects to established deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other groups
  • Leads change
  • Ability to communicate complex information and analyses to a variety of audiences in both verbal and written format
  • Demonstrated ability to work with or lead a team in a matrix structure
  • Global perspective within the context of business needs and impact
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Demonstrated ability to function autonomously in a matrix environment
  • Regulatory Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of Regulatory compliance requirements, processes and systems
  • Demonstrated Project Managements Skills: Competent illustration of processes, tools and techniques for planning and monitoring multiple complex projects to established deadlines
  • Technology: Experience and competency with Regulatory software, XML, Document Management, regulatory milestone reporting tools.
  • Certification in PMP-PMI, RPA or Sig Sixma is desirable but not mandatory.
