Pleasant Hall Pay Grade: Job Description: The School of Social Work at Louisiana State University announces the availability of a 9-month position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Professional Practice (non tenure-track) in the area of Child and Family Studies beginning August 2021. The responsibilities of this position include teaching face to face courses on campus primarily within Child and Family Studies (CFS) and the Child Life Specialist (CLS) concentration within CFS, with possibility for teaching crossover with Social Work for BSW, MSW, and PhD students, especially the CFS concentration within the SW PhD; coordinate and supervise student internships and field work; flexibility to teach across the CFS curriculum; providing service to the University, College, School, and profession. This is a 9-mo position. Minimum Qualifications/Specific Experience: * an earned PhD in Child and Family Studies, Human Development, or a related field; * for the Associate level, will previously have earned tenure and promotion to associate professor, or be at a commensurate level of training, experience, and scholarship as a tenured associate professor in CFS, justifying the request to appoint at an associate level as professor of professional practice. Preferred Qualifications/Specific Experience: * an earned PhD in Child and Family Studies, Human Development, or a related field, focus in child development preferred; * current certification as a Child Life Specialist and prior teaching experience in CLS; * current certification as a Family Life Educator * for the Associate level, will previously have earned tenure and promotion to associate professor, or be at a commensurate level of training, experience, and scholarship as a tenured associate professor in CFS, justifying the request to appoint at an associate level as professor of professional practice.
