Job Summary

A clinical/lab instructor shall be responsible for providing students with the knowledge, skills and communication techniques needed for the students to meet the courses objectives. Closely supervise and guide the students in the college skills lab, simulation activities and/or in the controlled clinical setting (hospitals, health care facility) and objectively evaluate student progress.

SALARY: Nursing and allied health faculty members are paid for hourly contact with students at various rates depending on the teaching discipline, academic credentials, and professional certifications. BSN - $28.08; MSN - $30.16; DNP - $32.24, not to exceed 19 hours per week.

Part-time positions are posted based on the possible availability of a future assignment which are sporadic and may not occur. Available positions are contingent upon enrollment and instructional needs of the College.

Minimum Qualifications/Screening Process

* Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing from a regionally accredited institution is required.
* Current unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama is required.
* Three years' experience in clinical practice is required.
* Master's degree or higher in nursing is preferred.
* Prior experience teaching is preferred.
* Experience incorporating multi-media instructional techniques into a curricula including instructional technology for web-based teaching and course management utilizing the Blackboard platform is preferred.
* Experience with diverse student populations is preferred.
Available positions are contingent upon enrollment and the instructional needs of the College. All initial interviews will be conducted in person and applicants must travel at their own expense.

Wallace Community College accepts applications for Clinical/Lab Instructors on a continuous basis, to fill morning, afternoon, evening or weekend needs at all College locations to include dual enrollment at area high schools. However, it does not necessarily imply there are immediate openings.

Letter(s) must include employment dates and job title and be on official letterhead with an authorized personnel signature. If an employment verification cannot be obtained, i.e. business is no longer in operation, an applicant may submit a copy of appointment letters or contracts or pay stubs or W-2 forms to verify a minimum of one year experience.

6. Appropriate transcript identifying the applicant, institution, date degree conferred and verifying the applicant has received the minimum required degree as outlined in the qualifications.
