A NIH R01 funded Postdoctoral Fellow position is readily available in the laboratory of Dr. Ben Shih at Arthur Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute at City of Hope, located in Los Angeles (Duarte) CA, USA.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Fellow to study the mechanosignaling and cell-cell interaction during pancreas development and islet morphogenesis. Specifically, we study how mechanosignaling regulates islet organization, cell adhesion, and endocrine function during development and maintenance. We use genetic mouse models, stem cells and imaging techniques to study cellular identity, function, remodeling, and maturation of pancreatic endocrine cells during development and adult maintenance.

The lab is in City of Hope main campus with full access to state of the art core facilities for Deep Sequencing, including single cell RNA Seq, Genome Engineering, Imaging and FACS analysis.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

PhD degree in Biology or related discipline
Candidates with experience in handling animal models, tissue collection, genomic analysis and imaging techniques are particularly encouraged to apply.
