A Postdoctoral Fellow position for an NIH-funded project in lymphoma and immunotherapy is available in the Department of Systems Biology, Beckman Research Institute at the City of Hope National Medical Center. The laboratory is interested in the molecular mechanisms underlying leukemia and lymphoma and identification of novel therapeutic targets. Our research uses classical molecular and cell biology techniques as well as contemporary systems biology approaches in primary human lymphoma cells and animal models to understand oncogenic signaling pathways and to discover potential cancer cell vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Performing CRISPR-based gene editing, Retroviral gene delivery, Flow cytometry, Chromatin immunoprecipitation, ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, mass spectrometry/quantitative phospho-profiling, mouse genetics, bone marrow transplantation assays, pre-clinical drug testing and CAR T-cell immunotherapy in xenotransplantation animal models.
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
PhD in cell or molecular biology, enthusiasm for science
Willingness to think beyond established concepts and to try and learn new experimental and analysis tools.
The lab takes a team science approach, so being a good team player is important as well.
