The Department of Environmental Studies at University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) seeks applications at the tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level with expertise in ecohydrology and watershed management. The position will begin on August 16, 2022. This is a full-time on-campus position, tenure-track academic appointment. UIS tenure-system faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the campus community, with assigned professional responsibilities for teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities: We expect the person for the position to create and teach new courses on Ecohydrology, Watershed Management and Water Quality, or courses in candidate's areas of expertise and when appropriate, to contribute to the offering of the following existing courses, such as Environmental Natural Sciences, Introduction to Earth Science, Environmental Physical Geography, Fundamentals of GIS, or Fundamentals of Remote Sensing. Teaching load (three courses per spring and fall semester) will consist of a combination of on-campus and online courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The position will also perform academic advising, direct graduate research, and conduct research in her/his specialization. Applicants should have a desire for excellence in teaching.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in environmental sciences, watershed management, natural resources, ecology, geology, or a related field.
