The medicinal chemistry team within the Center for Drug Discovery supports client needs by conducting hit-to-lead and lead optimization. We integrate medicinal chemistry into larger projects focused on drug discovery and development, including computational chemistry, in vitro assay development and HTS screening, in vivo behavioral pharmacology, ADME/PK bioanalytics, and regulatory support.

We have an immediate need for a Medicinal Chemists to join an exciting and growing team. In this role, you will be expected to collaborate in the synthesis of small molecules as ligands for various biological targets including kinases, G protein-coupled receptors, ion channels, and antimicrobial targets. In this role you will assist with experimental design and perform compound synthesis both independently and as a member of a team

Responsibilities:

Ensure proper execution of studies and record-keeping
Perform data analyses and prepare manuscripts for publication
Review literature and patents to retrieve scientific information
Other duties as assigned by PI

Qualifications:

B.S in Chemistry or related field plus 8 years of directly related experience
M.S. in Chemistry or related field plus 5 years of directly related experience
Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field plus 2 years of directly related experience
Experience with a wide variety of chemical reactions required.
Experience with LC/MS, NMR and chiral separation techniques needed
Experience with antimicrobial discovery and development desired
Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
