Summary of the role

As an Associate Editor in our Cell & Molecular Biology team, you will be part of a dynamic environment of continuous learning and development, focused on the evolving needs of our customers, helping them to learn and develop their knowledge and skills. You will combine an entrepreneurial spirit with a talent for organization and communication. You will play a key role in driving our commissioning, publishing, and promotion of articles to support the health and growth of our business, while maintaining a firm grip on the administrative side of program management. You will bring to bear your existing experience in publishing and will interact with editors, reviewers, and authors from around the world supportively and persuasively as you work on journal management.

How you will make an impact:
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with external authors, reviewers, and editors with the aim of building and maintaining Wiley's reputation and quality in our publishing
  • Undertake market research, when appropriate, into specific subject areas to identify key gaps in our existing content and opportunities for expansion of manuscripts
  • Contribute to publishing strategy and public relations to explore key opportunities, as well as opportunities for digital growth
  • Ensure the efficient day-to-day running of existing titles within the program
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in Content, Marketing, Production, and Sales, to ensure titles are published successfully to agreed schedules and budgets

We are looking for people who have:
  • Education to university level or equivalent
  • Outstanding organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills including influence and sensitivity
  • Experience of the publishing process and dealing with authors
  • Good understanding of academic publishing and a strong commercial outlook
