Summary
The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP) is expanding its faculty and is seeking creative, innovative, diverse faculty candidates to support our new health science undergraduate academic programs.
The Assistant/Associate professorship in Communication is a tenure-track, academic year faculty position housed in the Department of Liberal Arts. Primary responsibilities include: teaching a 3/3 load of undergraduate courses in organizational communication, intercultural communication and/or other courses in the faculty members area of expertise, developing additional elective courses as needed, engaging in an active scholarly research program with a focus on health or healthcare-related issues, and providing service to the College through advising students, advising student organizations, and faculty committee responsibilities.

Qualifications

- A Ph.D. in Communication or closely related field.
- Experience teaching (which can include graduate teaching assistantships) undergraduate courses in either intercultural or organizational communication.
- A willingness to teach in an ability-based education model using active, student-centered learning.
- An active scholarly research program (or strong potential for developing such a program), striving toward a national and international reputation.
- Experience with interdisciplinary or collaborative research and an existing record of published scholarship in communication or other social science discipline with a focus on health or healthcare-related issues.
- To participate in professional and scholarly societies and develop working relationships with public and private funding agencies.
- To demonstrate support for diversity and inclusion; the ability to incorporate diversity, cultural competency or social justice into teaching, research or service.
