We are looking to add a chef to our team who posseses a broad range of culinary knowledge together with the ability to effectively teach groups of 6 to 14 people in a hands-on class format.

Class subjects vary widely; a chef needs to be qualified to teach cooking fundamentals, regional & international cuisines, basic baking and single subject classes. Chefs design their class menus and provide teachable recipes for each class. Qualified chefs must be able to make classes fun and entertaining while teaching skills that benefit the home chef.

We are looking for a chef/instructor to teach Wednesday evenings, Saturday afternoons and one Friday morning each month. This could be a great job for a chef needing part time work or caterer with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities of the Instructor/Chef:

Organize the class so stations are set for students prior to class.

Begin each class with a lecture for 15 to 20 minutes about the subject, cooking techniques and foods that will be prepared in class.

Supervise the cooking experience of a group of people in a positive, helpful manner, making sure the methods and procedures are followed according to the recipes.

Arrive one hour in advance of class to do the set up and stay until cleaning of the kitchen is done.

Plan lessons quarterly with menus and recipes for each class based on subjects provided.

Qualifications of the Instructor/Chef:

Graduate of a professional culinary school with 3-5 years professional cooking experience.

Ability to write recipes in a clear and concise manner, following our teaching guidelines.

Ability to communicate clearly to people with all levels of cooking skills.

Uphold & communicate sanitation and kitchen safety methods to each group of students.

Respect and support our policies and demonstrate professional behavior.

Benefits to the Instructor/Chef:

Creative design of class content.

Input into Class subjects to be offered.

Generous compensation based on quality of lesson & appeal to students (attendance).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Varies based on attendance, Average $32.00 per hour
