Please visit to apply.Job SummaryAbout the Minor in Performing Arts Management & Entrepreneurship (PAME):The minor, which is offered through the Department of Entrepreneurship & Leadership and the Department of Theatre & Drama, serves students across the school and university. The training is intended to amplify the careers of SMTD students through knowledge, skills, and hands-on experiences that increase and broaden the impact of their artistic talents. Similarly, the minor offers opportunities for students in programs across the University to add an arts business dimension to their curriculum. Currently, approximately 70 students are enrolled in the PAME minor annually, but the coursework serves several hundred students across campus who enroll in them as electives.Duties: The appointee will work alongside departmental leadership to re-envision the Performing Arts Management and Entrepreneurship (PAME) undergraduate minor in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance; teach performing arts management at the undergraduate level with the potential of engaging graduate students through existing or new course offerings; participate in the development of an arts leadership curriculum that embraces anti-oppressive methodologies and commits to advancing access, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADEI) in the arts; collaborate with colleagues in the departments of Theatre & Drama and Entrepreneurship & Leadership to grow existing curriculum and expand experiential learning opportunities in order to position U-M as a leader in the field of arts leadership education; advise students in the PAME minor; develop and maintain a visible national and international profile within the arts leadership field. The appointee will also be expected to participate in faculty governance, attend faculty and departmental meetings, and serve on faculty and University committees as appropriate. Typically, Associate Professor salaries range from $80-90k, while Full Professor salaries range from $100-110k; higher salaries may be considered for candidates with commensurate levels of experience. Required Qualifications*Qualifications: Advanced degree in arts leadership OR commensurate professional experience (e.g. community-based experience, project-based careers, multi/interdisciplinary experience, cultural entrepreneurial work); demonstrated ability to empower, advocate for, and value a broad range of students of diverse identities and experiences, as shown through pedagogy, mentoring, and related activities.Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience at the college level and active participation or leadership experience centering ADEI within the performing arts. Strong performing arts background rooted in theatre also preferred, with ancillary expertise in another performing arts discipline a plus (e.g. dance, musical theatre, etc.). Professional expertise within arts leadership, management, and/or cultural policy-and/or research activity in one or more of those fields-that would position this appointee to achieve a national/international profile. Experience working in diverse communities and organizations.
