The researcher will be required to exhibit excellent software engineering skills to contribute on the development of simulation tools and on the software stack for advanced quantum communications and quantum networks, with application on the Quantum Internet, distributed quantum computing as well as on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology. The HPN group features one of the largest and most illustrious test-bed facilities in Europe, providing the chance for field-experimentation on quantum networks. You will carry out work leading to publications in high-quality, high-impact journals and presentations at international conferences, working in conjunction with internal and external research collaborations in industrial and academic laboratories in Europe and beyond.
What will you be doing?
In particular, the researcher is required to carry out research in one or more of the following research topics:
· Simulation of quantum networks
· QKD and quantum networks deployment
· Key management solutions for QKD networks
· SDN for QKD optical networks
· Path calculation algorithms for QKD and quantum networks
· Machine learning algorithms for control of quantum networks
· Programmable hardware for encryption/decryption
· Contribute in preparation and submission of research proposals to national and international academic and industrial research funding organizations
· assist in project management duties.
You should apply if
The candidate should have:
· a MSc/PhD degree on Electrical/Electronics Engineering with specialization in Communications
· Excellent software engineering skills with application in communications
· Experience on SDN for optical networks
