Our innovative BSN program seeks creative faculty who are passionate about teaching, and who have a commitment to diversity and learning-centered education. Linfield's concept-based nursing curriculum provides a quality education derived from a liberal arts foundation, nursing theory and research. We are actively seeking candidates for a Tenure Track Nursing Faculty position.

Linfield University is a private, comprehensive undergraduate institution with the main campus in McMinnville Oregon. The School of Nursing is located on our new campus in Northeast Portland. There are approximately 400 pre-licensure students including a second-degree program. We have 200 RN to BSN students in our on-line program. Our NCLEX pass rates are significantly above national rates. Students have clinical in all hospitals and health care facilities in Portland and surrounding areas. We have a cutting-edge simulation program based on neurobiological learning theory.

Required Qualifications

All faculty candidates must possess 1) a doctoral degree in Nursing, 2) an Oregon Nursing license, and 3) three years of full-time nursing practice experience. The doctorate is the terminal degree for tenure and promotion in Nursing at Linfield University.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of effective teaching at the BSN level.

Previous experience in a higher education setting.

  • Letter of interest, including a description of what makes applicant qualified to teach BSN nursing students.
  • Copy of current Nursing License.
  • Undergraduate and Graduate transcripts (unofficial).
  • Three letters of recommendation.


In order to create the healthiest face-to-face learning environment possible, Linfield University is requiring that all faculty, staff, and students to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Employees should be fully vaccinated no later than two weeks prior to the start of the academic year, August 30, 2021. People who have tested positive for COVID-19 will still be required to show proof of vaccination. More information on qualifying for an exemption will be made available in the next few weeks. Linfield is currently working on this policy, in partnership with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC).
