Essential Duties
  1. Maintains and operates equipment and systems. 2. Replaces malfunctioning units. Assembles and disassembles research equipment. Constructs basic items in support of research activity. 3. Sets up and operates machinery, hand and power tools, and other equipment for the fabrication, testing, and modification of instruments, equipment, components, and systems. Maintains inventory of supplies. 4. Performs additional functions incidental to research and development activities.

Required Education and Experience

Two years of related work experience and a high school level education; or the equivalent combination of experience and education.

Position Focus:

Serve as a member of the Ogbunu lab at Yale University. Assist in the building and operating of simulations of biological, ecological and physical systems using a range of and mathematical and computational approaches including agent-based modeling, genetic algorithms and others. Visualization of data sets from biological and physical sources. Developing and managing a computer code and data repository for the Ogbunu lab. Present findings in oral and written form at lab meetings, department seminars, and conferences. Collaborate with members of the Ogbunu lab in submit pre-prints and manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals. Aid in statistical analysis of data of various kinds (eg. genomic, experimental, field collected, etc.).

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Practical experience with mathematical modeling, simulations, and statistical analysis. Formal or informal teaching experience.
