The College of Nursing at South Dakota State University is seeking a full-time Instructor or Lecturer position. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position.. The work location is based at our Aberdeen site and supervised by the Assistant Dean at the Aberdeen site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Faculty members plan, implement, and evaluate assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Sponsorship is not available; candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing upon application, and a Master's degree in Nursing completed by start date;
  • Licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing, or eligible for licensure as evidenced by current licensure in another state;
  • Two years of relevant clinical practice experience;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences as evidenced in application materials;
  • Evidence of effective written communication skills;
  • Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctoral preparation in Nursing or related discipline per standards and BORpolicy to be considered for Lecturer rank;
  • Three or more years of relevant clinical practice experience per standards and BOR policy to be considered for Lecturer rank;
  • Formal teaching experience in nursing;
  • Evidence of professional service.

SALARY:

Commensurate with qualifications.
