Role Summary

As a member of the Boulder Translational Oncology Group within Pfizer Boulder R&D, this position provides technical and operational oversight to the implementation of specialty and exploratory biomarker platforms within early clinical trials. Key activities include vendor, sample, data, and document management. A successful candidate is well organized, can communicate effectively, has a broad knowledge of biomarker assay platforms, and is able to work both independently and collaboratively in teams.

Role Responsibilities
  • Representative in Clinical study teams to execute Translational Oncology biomarker strategy in accordance with the clinical development plan/strategy and timelines.
  • Leads vendor assessment, selection, contracting and management.
  • Oversees novel clinical biomarker assay development, fit for purpose assay validation and sample analyses to ensure timely delivery of data to appropriate storage location
  • Point of contact with external commercial or academic clinical laboratories, as well as internal clinical labs, with oversight responsibilities for agreements, work plans, budget and invoices, assay transfer, assay validation, sample analyses, data transfers and overall data quality.
  • Maintains documentation in accordance with local document management practices
  • Demonstrates compliance with Pfizer SOPs


Basic Qualifications
  • PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience or M.S./B.S. with 5 years' experience in specialty biomarker applications involving flow cytometry, transcriptomics, proteomics, or metabolomics.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with development, validation and troubleshooting and use within clinical trials, of broad range of specialty biomarker platform technologies (e.g. LBA, NGS, IHC, PCR, FISH, flow cytometry, other cell based and circulating biomarker technologies).
  • Ability to manage and contribute effectively to multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Worked productively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary and diverse team setting.
  • CRO management and outsourcing engagement expertise preferred.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to support clinical teams across global time zones.
  • Up to 20% domestic and/or international travel may be required.

For roles based in Colorado:

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $84,800.00 to $141,300.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
