The Department of Ethnic Studies at Colorado State University is seeking candidates with specialties in Black Feminist Studies, Black Queer Studies, or Black Disability Studies. We invite scholars whose work provides original ways of understanding intersectionality regarding theorizations of Blackness, interrogations of anti-Blackness, Black social movements, social justice, and activism.

The applicant must demonstrate potential for excellence in research and scholarship in African American Studies; potential for excellence in teaching and advising; potential for excellence in service and outreach; and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Qualified applicants must be able to teach Black Feminism and develop Black or African American Studies courses.

Successful applicants are expected to build upon our strengths in interdisciplinary research activities and engaged scholarship that is grounded in activism and life experience. Evidence of interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate African American and other underrepresented student populations is highly desired.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses per year, including graduate and undergraduate courses, mentor students, have an active research agenda, and engage in outreach and service with African American communities.
