Deputy Manager Electrical and Electronic

The role

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bristol seeks an enthusiastic, Deputy Workshop Manager.

The role will help support and manage a team of experienced technicians within an electrical / electronic design and build environment. The role is unique and varied and will encompass a wide range of skills to enable flow of work from academic, research groups, graduate and undergraduate projects.

What will you be doing?

Located in Queen's Building the Workshop offers a range of electrical / electronic services to support various academic, research and student projects. This includes PAT equipment in lab's, design and build of PCB's, Fault finding on power systems, providing Electrical control systems, providing teaching and workshop support.

You should apply if

It is essential you can manage a highly skilled team and help organise workflow through the workshop which enables project deadlines to be meet while optimising the resources available. A large part of the role will be interfacing with the customers and helping them to formulate effective and practicable solutions to complex problems.

The successful applicant must be a good communicator who can multitask and develop relationships quickly. This role would ideally suit someone with a broad electrical / electronic knowledge base.

The role is varied and demanding but is also very rewarding in helping to develop the engineers of the future.
