The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Gain knowledge of department operations and procedures under direct supervision and in an entry-level capacity.
  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative analyses on organic and inorganic samples to determine their chemical properties.
  • Participates in development of new analytical procedures.
  • Gains knowledge of department operations and procedures.
  • Records dates of receipt, in use, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards used for assigned assays.
  • Labels and handles specimens.
  • Adds reagents using approved pre-set devices, calibrated and approved automatic devices or fixed volume dispensers.
  • Assures reagents and equipment are within expiration periods before use and corrects simple assay problems when found.
  • Alerts management as warranted for more complex issues and may provide suggestions for correction.
  • Performs, under direct supervision, preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment.
  • Documents PM appropriately, makes minor repairs and immediately contacts appropriate personnel for problems requiring more complex repairs.
  • Trains lab personnel on departmental procedures and company policies and procedures.
  • Participates in projects that require training and following established guidelines.
  • Performs all duties, including documentation and analysis, associated with assays designated as bioanalytical.
  • Reviews SOPS and makes recommendations and updates upon supervisory approval.
  • Performs additional support duties in addition to carrying a regular workload (such as validation studies).
  • Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.
  • Documents all activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Normally requires a B.S. Degree in biology, chemistry, analytical chemistry or related science is preferred or Associate's Degree
  • 4-6 years related experience
