The Center studies the nature and development of the human life span, looking for innovative ways to use science and technology to solve the problems of people over 50 by improving the well-being of people of all ages. The Center's mission is to accelerate and implement scientific discoveries, technological advances, behavioral practices, and social norms so that century long lives are healthy and rewarding. To inspire change on a grand scale, SCL works with more than 150 Stanford faculty, their students and research staffs, as well as leaders from industries that are poised to distribute innovative products and services to the public, thought leaders who help to shape the ideas that influence cultural change, and policy makers who target important challenges and opportunities for long lived societies. By fostering dialogue and collaborations among typically disconnected worlds, the Center aims to develop workable solutions for urgent issues confronting the world as the population ages. With these collaborations, we aim to redesign how we live our lives so that the great potential of longer life is fully realized. This is a fixed-term position of 2 years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance, funding, and programmatic need. The Center on Longevity is committed to promoting diversity of perspectives, and providing an inclusive place for people from all backgrounds to thrive. *JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*New Map of Life Fellows ProgramThe New Map of Life initiative aims to envision a society that supports people to live secure and high-quality lives for a century or more. This position will organize and oversee the "New Map of Life Impact Fellows" program, which places Fellows in external organizations with the aim of identifying and evaluating specific ways to improve functioning in century long lives
* In coordination with Stanford Faculty Advisors, direct the research work of New Map of Life Research Fellows to achieve research goals as established by Center on Longevity leadership
* Plan and coordinate a weekly speaker series training New Map of Life Fellows on key longevity-related topics.
* Identify and recruit speakers, panelists and moderators who provide perspectives from academia, government, nonprofits, and business for chosen themes and topics
* Coordinate with speakers and panelists to optimize the format and content of the sessions to ensure audience engagement

* Develop other programs and events that bring together faculty, Fellows, supporters and other important stakeholders to advance the goal of The New Map of Life program.
The Sightlines ProjectThe Sightlines Project is an initiative to evaluate how well we as a society are doing, in improving century long lives. The first report was issued in 2015 with periodic updates developed each year, diving deeper into a specific "longevity" domain.
* Develop and field surveys tracking progress across multiple "longevity" domains
* Lead the data analysis, identifying key findings
* Collaborate with other Stanford scholars on preparing and publishing research "briefs"
*Desired Qualifications*
* Ph.D. in the social sciences and 3+ years of experience
* Strong interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit
* Experience collaborating with faculty and external partners
* Excellent oral and written communications skills, including experience in "translating" academic research findings for a mainstream audience
