*Description:*

This individual will be involved in all aspects of the general admission process: recruitment travel, interaction with prospective students and their families, interviewing, application review, the selection of candidates, and review of financial documents for immigration. They will also play a critical role in the development, expansion, and implementation of our international recruitment efforts for both the undergraduate (first-year and transfer) and graduate offices of admission. The successful candidate will work with senior administration to develop the strategic recruitment plan that will help to achieve the goals set for

international enrollment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Travel will include both international and domestic trips spread throughout the academic year, recruiting at both high schools and community colleges.

* Reading and evaluating applications and participating in the committee process to select candidates for admission, including serving as the primary reviewer of international applications.

* Complete credential/credit evaluations, and maintain articulation agreements with both domestic and international institutions of higher education.

* Reviewing financial and immigration documents.

* Interviewing prospective candidates.

* Conducting information sessions.

* Answering admission inquiries from prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and others.

* Planning and implementation of various on and off-campus programs and initiatives.

* Serving as liaison with other campus offices and/or departments.

* Support of day-to-day admission processes.

* Review and analyze the daily reports to ensure that long range goals are on target.

Candidates must be able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference and the NCAA.

*Qualifications:*

Bachelor's degree required. One to 2 years' experience with select admission, as well as direct experience working with international admission (experience reviewing applications, familiarity with a variety of foreign educational systems, and experience and comfort traveling internationally) is strongly recommended. A valid driver's license and a valid passport are all required at the time employment commences.

The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to relate to a broad range of constituents (students, parents, alumni, high school counselors, etc.), an appreciation for, and sensitivity to, a variety of backgrounds and traditions from which students may come, and the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively. This candidate will also need to be a strong public speaker who can present information in a concise and thorough manner. Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite, and admissions-based CRMs such as Slate and Banner are preferred, as well as a strong data analysis background.
