*About MGH Institute:*MGH Institute of Health Professions is a graduate school in Boston that provides entry-level and post-professional programs in Nursing, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Genetic Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. The PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and a PhD and Master of Science in Health Professions Education have been added in recent years to meet rising demand for highly educated health care professionals, educators, and researchers. Integrating classroom learning with research and clinical experience, the Institute grants doctoral degrees, master's degrees, awards certificates of advanced study, and offers continuing education to practicing professionals.The IHP is the only degree-granting affiliate in Mass General Brigham (MGB), the largest private employer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We are excited about this new initiative and are hiring employees who are committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion and will contribute to our anti-racism and anti-oppression approach. *Job Summary:*The MGH Institute's Prerequisites for the Health Professions are a suite of online, for-credit courses aimed at preparing undergraduates to pursue graduate study in the health professions. Offerings include 16 basic science courses with and without labs and five introductory courses for communication sciences and disorders. The program typically enrolls over 900 students per year, divided over three semesters. Though over 10 years old with an established team of instructors, enrollment plan, and staff support, the program will enjoy new possibilities for collaboration as part of a soon-to-be launched School of Health Care Leadership.The Director of the Prerequisites for the Health Professions program provides strategic academic leadership including maintaining high-quality student experience, pursuing partnerships and innovations that reach new learners, and recruiting and providing professional development to course instructors. Depending on interests, the director may work between 20 and 40 hours a week and may be entirely remote or on campus in Boston, MA. Successful candidates will be eligible for faculty appointment at rank commensurate with qualifications.*Duties and Responsibilities:*Provide academic leadership and strategic vision (40%)
* Administer the program including hiring, mentoring, and evaluating course instructors
* Collaborate with School of Health Care Leadership staff to ensure effective and efficient program operations
* Collaborate with Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) staff to incorporate inclusive and anti-racism teaching principles into all courses
* Assure the quality and relevance of all offerings
* Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the program
* Make decisions about student appeals and requests
Provide strategic vision for program growth (30%)
* Develop marketing strategies with the Office of Enrollment Services to target prospective students
* Scan the higher education landscape to respond nimbly to changing conditions
* Assist Office of Enrollment Services in setting enrollment targets and monitor budget performance
* Pursue partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to create pathways for additional learners
Develop and teach courses as appropriate (15%)
* Design and teach courses in area of specialty.
* Coordinate resources from instructional design, library, and instructional technology to assist term lecturers in course development and instruction
Pursue scholarship (15%)
* Conduct scholarship which contributes to knowledge and understanding of best practices in online instruction in health professions education.

Qualifications
*Education and Experience Qualifications:*
* Graduate degree in a health-related field, education, or science
* Academic teaching experience (including online) in higher education
* Administrative experience in health professions education preferable
*Skills, Abilities, Competencies Required*
* Administrative Skills- highly organized, efficient, excellent oral and written communication skills
* Technical Skills- proficient in Microsoft office, learning management systems
* Physical Capabilities -able to function in an energetic enviroment
