*Position Highlights:*The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix is establishing a Child Health Research Institute that will complement and support growing clinical programs of distinction at Phoenix Children's Hospital. We seek an experienced, accomplished and innovative research leader with MD, MD, PhD or PhD degrees to build a comprehensive, multi- investigator, interdisciplinary research institute. Research laboratories are housed in new, state-of-the-art facilities with core services. The Director will be expected to perform, develop and direct the research activities of the Institute, fostering collaboration with faculty across the College, Phoenix Children's Hospital and the University. Applicants will have an outstanding track record in scholarship and ongoing extramural funding as a principal investigator. Professorial appointment will be at the Professor rank and longitudinal success in extramural funding. Options for tenure/tenure-track appointment are available for the appropriate applicant.
In addition to recruiting new investigators, the Institute will draw from investigators in the various Departments of the College and Clinical Affiliates. The successful candidate will promote collaborative research programs within the Colleges in Phoenix, as well as with other research programs in Tucson. Additional opportunities for collaboration include the Translational Cardiovascular Research Center, Norton Thoracic Institute, and Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Center for Applied NanoBioscience and Medicine, Translational Genomics Research Institute, and Arizona State University.

* Build a comprehensive, multi-investigator,interdisciplinary research Institute to develop innovative strategies to cure human disease
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* MD and/or PhD degree
* Applicants will have an outstanding track record in scholarship and sustained extramural funding as a principal investigator and demonstrated success in program development and mentoring
* Finalists selected must meet the pre-employment and physician credentialing requirements for the University of Arizona and the clinical affiliate Phoenix Children's Hospital.
