*ABOUT MGH INSTITUTE:*MGH Institute of Health Professions is a graduate school in Boston that provides entry-level and post-professional programs in Nursing, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Genetic Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. The PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and a PhD and Master of Science in Health Professions Education have been added in recent years to meet rising demand for highly educated health care professionals, educators, and researchers. We are excited about this new initiative and are hiring employees who are committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion and will contribute to our anti-racism and anti-oppression approach. *POSITION SUMMARY:*Primary Responsibility: The Director of Clinical Affiliations is a ranked faculty position and will provide oversight of the development and implementation of SON clinical education that is responsive to program and course objectives, student needs and available clinical resources and in conjunction with the marketing and communication groups at the MGH IHP, will coordinate clinical placement marketing efforts and outreach on behalf of the SON.*RESPONSIBILITES:*ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide leadership and direction for all SON clinical education processes and activities.
* Oversee and evaluate clinical education and placements (# students, # placements, variance, needs).
* Supervise clinical education staff.
* Ensure that processes and resources are appropriate to meet the needs of SON clinical education.
* Review and contribute to revisions of clinical contracts for accuracy, timeliness and congruence with regulations in consultation with Associate Dean.
* Collaborate with Program Directors to determine each programs' clinical placement needs and resources and to monitor outcomes.
* Collaborate with the Dean, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and program directors to design and operationalize new models to deliver effective clinical education.
* Lead SON COMPACT discussions and negotiations with Preceptors and HCO's in consultation with program director.
* Collaborate with centralized MGH IHP COMPACT Coordinator on the execution of all COMPACT agreements and provide data on COMPACT related payments.
* Prepare reports and clinical proposals as requested.
CLINICAL PLACEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assume primary responsibility for the development of a customer service system in the Clinical Education Department within the School of Nursing.
* Actively seek out and develop relationships with new clinical sites and preceptors.
* Assist in the implementation and evaluation of innovative models of clinical education at the master's levels.
* Collaborate with the IHP centralized contract staff in the management of clinical affiliation agreements with multiple sites, including negotiating terms and coordinating with legal counsel as directed.
* Participate in the preparation of various annual reports by providing clinical data (American Association of Colleges of Nursing Survey; MA Board of Registration in Nursing Annual Report; Partners' Hours Report for CMS).
* Recommend, build and maintain innovative systems to meet the clinical education reporting needs of the School of Nursing.
* Work collaboratively with clinical placement associates to establish shared practices and databases.
* Other duties as assigned.
MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead SON COMPACT discussions and negotiations with Preceptors and HCO's in consultation with program director. Collaborate with centralized MGH IHP COMPACT Coordinator on the execution of all COMPACT Agreements and provide data on COMPACT related payments.
* Lead targeted communication campaigns for preceptors and prospective preceptors including ongoing outreach about practica and needs, SON and MGH IHP updates, brand awareness campaigns and acknowledgment to preceptors across programs.
* Expand the range of clinical placements sites:
* Develop a strategic plan consistent with the approved graduate curriculum, accreditation standards, and goals of the School that define clinical education.
* Actively seek out and develop relationships with new clinical sites and preceptors.
* Identify potential clinical placement sites for consideration by track coordinators. Arrange virtual meetings, interviews or site visits at potential sites. Compile specific data needed for planning.
* Participate in evaluation of clinical placements and preceptors with data analysis from E*value.

SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain positive public relations through the provision of expert assistance. Serves as a resource regarding program details and the Institute for prospective and current students and faculty. Supervises clinical education staff, including the Clinical Affairs Administrative Coordinator(s), Clinical Education Placement & systems Associate(s), and temporary clerical staff and graduate assistants assigned to clinical education. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications
*QUALIFICATIONS:** *
* A candidate must hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing; and possess a graduate degree in nursing.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
* Excellent writing skills.
* Creates and maintains a learner-centered environment in the clinical education department, with a focus on exceptional customer service.
* Communicate across multiple constituencies including academic faculty, administrators and practice partners.
* Must be independent and outcomes driven with a demonstrated ability to assume initiative and to be self-directed.
* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects.
* Familiarity with data base management and report construction.
* Systematic project management skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain data management systems and processes.
