Senior Lecturer and Program Director Human Physiology Program Tracking Code2652 Job DescriptionBoston University's College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College invites applications for a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Senior Lecturer in the Human Physiology Program within the Department of Health Sciences. This is a 10-month appointment with the possibility of summer instruction. We are seeking to fill this position with a strong candidate as soon as possible, searching for a colleague with strong leadership and mentoring skills who will serve as Program Director for the Undergraduate (B.S.) and Graduate (M.S.) Programs in Human Physiology. This position will be a strategic hire that will allow us to build upon the College's tradition of excellence in the health sciences and its commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Senior Lecturers at Boston University are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate students and participate in advising and service activities. They will be responsible for directing the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in Human Physiology. These are thriving, high-enrollment programs with recently redesigned curricula. We seek a colleague committed to evidence-based teaching practices and the mentorship of our talented student body. The human physiology program includes a semester- or yearlong field experience practicum course which is the crown jewel of the undergraduate experience. This faculty member will direct this course and play a central mentorship role with our students throughout their experience. Additionally, this faculty member will have a demonstrated ability to teach other upper-division physiology courses of their choosing. A successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in classroom instruction at the college/university level, expertise in STEM pedagogy, and experience with curriculum development.

Qualifications include:

* A doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Human Physiology, Biology, or a closely related field
* A minimum of 5 years' teaching experience at the college/university level is required
* Demonstrated competence in teaching human physiology
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* A desire to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
* Prior experience with academic advising for health sciences students is highly desired
