* Ph.D. in Film/Critical Studies/Cinema/Media Studies with specialization in American Cinema or related discipline. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2022.
* Demonstrated scholarship and publication records in one or more of the following fields: Black, Latinx, Asian-American, Indigenous, women's, and LGBTQ cinemas
* Ability to develop film and media courses that elevate underrepresented perspectives in the classroom, addressing the cultures and experiences of people of color in the United States especially through intersectional approaches to gender, race, ethnicity, and class
* Two years of experience at the college level teaching film and media studies courses
* Demonstrated commitment to developing and teaching an inclusive curriculum to a diverse student population
* Demonstrated potential for sustained growth and success in research, scholarly and creative activities
* Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
*Preferred Qualifications:*

* Ability to teach a variety of American cinema and other film studies courses at the undergraduate level
* Interest in the intersections between race or gender and emerging forms of digital culture or new media technologies
* Evidence of familiarity with emerging critical trends and inclusive pedagogical practices in the areas of film and media history and theory
* Expertise in developing effective online instruction
*Duties:*

* Teach core, lower, and upper division courses in film studies, in addition to new offerings in underrepresented fields of American cinema [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
* Develop and maintain ongoing research and scholarly activities
* Collaborate with faculty to develop curriculum and coordinate/expand interdisciplinary collaborations and screening events with other departments on campus including study abroad initiatives
* Engage in outreach, student mentoring, and involvement in student activities
* Assist in identifying and recruiting part-time faculty
* Act as program liaison with professionals in the field
* Participate in service to the department, college, university, and local community
