Essential Duties
  1. Researches and collects data through site or home visit intakes; library research; structured interviews; or through other means for research projects. 2. Interprets, synthesizes, and analyzes data using scientific or statistical techniques. Modifies and plans research experiments, procedures, tests, or survey instruments. Assists in research design. 3. Writes and edits material for publication and presentation. Reports on status of research activities. Oversees and instructs research and support staff on technical procedures, equipment operation, and laboratory maintenance. 4. Schedules and coordinates research activities. Identifies and recruits study participants. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. 5. May assist in preparing financial information and monitoring budgets. 6. Performs additional functions incidental to research activities.

Required Education and Experience

Two years of related work experience in the same job family and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Position Focus:

The Yale Center for Analytical Sciences (YCAS) and Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI) are seeking a research assistant to assist in maintaining compliance of research studies at the Yale School of Medicine.

Essential Duties:

Interact with IRB, clinical faculty and study teams, YCAS and YCCI to assure compliance in the registration and reporting of clinical research studies to ClinicalTrials.gov.

Maintain ClinicalTrials.gov user accounts.

Understand reporting requirements (i.e. Final Rule, ICMJE, NIH Defined Clinical Trials, etc.).

Serve as a ClinicalTrials.gov resource for assisting and training Yale research staff and clinical faculty.

Track important research study information for the purpose of compliance with registration and reporting requirements.

Use Electronic Data Capture software (e.g. OnCore/EDC, REDCap) for reporting, tracking and monitoring study progress.

Conduct quality control review of ClinicalTrials.gov registration submissions.

Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques.

Conduct quality control review of ClinicalTrials.gov results reporting (participant flow, baseline characteristics, outcome measures and adverse events).

Meet with investigators to assess study needs with respect to posting studies on ClinicalTrials.gov.

Work on several projects concurrently.

Edit material for publication and presentation.

Report on status of research activities.

Perform additional functions incidental to research activities.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in a related field. Exposure to Institutional Review board systems or Yale IRES. Exposure to HRPP (Human Research Protection Program). Experience with OnCore and REDcap. Completion of GCP (Good Clinical Practice).
