We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Field Clinical Engineer. This position is responsible for advanced service and support of Abbott capital technologies applied in the electrophysiology and cardiac catheterization lab. The FCE operates within an assigned geography (Division), working in partnership with local sales teams to develop and support business in local geographies (Regions/Territories).

This position will be located in California, ideal location near Los Angeles or San Francisco for easy access to major airport.

Position responsibilities include clinical engineering support throughout the sales cycle, site initiation, and technology lifespan. The FCE is involved in customer consultation, site planning, clinical evaluation, solution implementation, and advanced clinical/technical training. Additionally, the FCE is responsible for the overall performance of warranty and service agreement obligations within the assigned geography.

Impact this role will have on Abbott:

- Performs technology installation, configuration, connectivity, calibration and safety/functional testing of the WorkMateTMClarisTM and EnSiteTMVelocityTM product lines

- Provides in-service training and education to clinicians on the use of Abbott electro-physiology recording, mapping, and ablation technology platforms and accessories, primarily WorkMateTMClarisTM and EnSiteTMVelocityTM

- Represents St. Jude Medical during electrophysiology procedures - including diagnostic, implant, and therapeutic clinical treatments as an applications expert in support of physician and staff

- Performs field services by work order assignment in an efficient and professional manner, reporting and maintaining all service documentation and test results/findings in a service database

- Provides prompt, professional, and pertinent follow-up (written or otherwise as required) in response to all customer interactions to insure a positive customer experience in partnership with the technical support center

- Maintains compliance with industry regulations and quality system standards with respect to reporting, failure investigation, and documentation of field service events, interfacing with product division regulatory and quality departments/personnel

- Participates, as assigned, in new product introductions/evaluations by assisting in the implementation and initiation of clinical use, ensuring optimized technology utilization

- Identifies potential product line extensions or enhancements by supporting proposals regarding identified needs in the capacity of new site test assessments and/or development ideas

- Attends and participates in company sponsored events such as service/sales meetings, product training events, and industry trade shows/conventions as required

- May be required to provide service to US and internationally based customers

Experience & Skill Requirements:

- Demonstrated familiarity with electrophysiology or cardiac catheterization lab procedures and protocols

- Ability to understand and comply with company policies and applicable industry laws and regulations - Personal computing skills with ability to perform word processing/spreadsheet tasks to perform documentation, presentation, and analysis activities

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse cross-functional team environment

- Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in a preceptor role

- Travel up to 75% Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand St. Jude Medical's marketplace success:

- Bachelor's degree in life sciences (Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry) plus a minimum of 1 year experience in an electrophysiology or cardiology lab

- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment

- Demonstrated familiarity with electrophysiology or cardiac catheterization lab procedures and protocols

- Experience with integration and networking a plus
