Job Description:

The Department of Economics, Marketing and Analytics at Southern Utah University seeks applicants for a full-time Lecturer of Business Analytics. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position to start August 16, 2021 (or potentially July 1, 2021 for online course development with administrative approval), conditional on funding.

Teaching duties include undergraduate and MSBA courses in Data Analytics and other courses in the field of Business Analytics as needed. The School offers graduate and undergraduate emphases in Business Analytics and a Master of Science in Business Analytics, with courses in Data Analytics, Data Processing & Visualization, Consumer Analytics (Marketing Science), and Big Data for Business. While not necessary, online teaching experience is preferred, since this position will involve both online teaching and online course development.

Depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience, the teaching load will consist of teaching 4-5 courses each semester. There are also opportunities to teach summer courses (live or online) for additional compensation. Course assignment will be based on experience and expertise of the candidate. Courses to teach may also include quantitative courses outside Business Analytics (e.g. Economics or Finance). See General Catalog for a list of all courses currently being offered: https://catalog.suu.edu/content.php?catoid=14&navoid=2496

This position will work with the other faculty in the Business Analytics program to teach courses, develop curriculum, connect with potential employers, and build a program focused on quality placement of graduates. Please address your previous experience working to build partnerships with employers or your previous experience developing industry-focused curricula in your cover letter for the position.

The department places significant emphasis on providing an engaging learning experience for students. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The college and university also value candidates with a diverse background to meet the growing diversity of the student body. We encourage all applicants to consider how they can contribute to the mission of the university through fostering an inclusive and equitable university community.

Priority will be given to applications that are received by February 22, 2021, and the position will remain open until filled. For questions or problems with the application process, please contact Human Resources at jobs@suu.edu or 435-865-8572.
