We are seeking an Associate Director for the newly established Romanian affiliate, reporting to the Regional Finance Director for the European Cluster/ACE Mid-sized Markets Region.

The affiliate will be operational from 01 Jan 2022 with a number of key positions recruited earlier in 2021 to support the successful go live. This role will the first finance position recruited and will primarily support the General Manager, and all Romanian leadership team on all aspects of commercial, strategic and financial decision-making, acting as right-hand' and facilitator, as well as challenging decisions in a constructive and value-adding manner.

With transitional support from the European Distributor Market Finance team, the role is expected to quickly take a lead across all finance matters ensuring a successful transition of the current Romanian Distribution business into the affiliate.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

\uf02dSupports the General Manager in delivering optimal performance and ensure all risks are understood by Regional Senior Management. Ensures High Forecast accuracy.

\uf02dPartners' regional & local leadership teams focusing on strategic issues across multiple functions developing business/operational plans and drive their implementation.

\uf02dWorks with the Financial Shared Services (FSS) and Grant Thornton (local accounting and statutory book support) to ensure robust country-level Accounting, Controllership, Tax, Treasury and Procurement including robust financial controls and management of risks, facilitated by strong collaborative relationships.

\uf02dEnsures optimal and consistent Finance processes are in place leveraging the International Shared Service Centre and central FP&A Centre-of-Excellence (CoE). Expected to support company-wide Finance projects.

-Works closely with the parent Gilead entity to forecast and maintain appropriate funding for the affiliate during the initial 2-3 years of operation whilst supporting the transition to a fully buy-sell entity by 2024.

\uf02dFinance lead across strategic initiatives impacting the long-term goals of the affiliate, region and Company.

\uf02dDevelops collaborative relationship with local Distributor to ensure transparency around key commercial contracts on relevant parts of the business.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

With a unique Company culture, strong core values, operating in an industry with complex reimbursement policies and regulatory environments, we are seeking an experienced individual with proven cultural adaptability and relevant industry experience, preferably at an operational level at a senior finance position. Ideally the candidate will have gained exposure to working within a US corporate environment.

Detailed requirements include:

\uf02dBA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent with a CPA, CA or similar accounting qualification. 10+ years of relevant experience. Tax, Treasury and Financial Accounting experience required.

\uf02dExcellent interpersonal skills, an inquisitive mind, and the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization with multiple functions, together with a positive attitude and strong work ethic required.

\uf02dStrong, proven business partnering mentality; has the maturity and awareness to strike a balance between facilitating and challenging the business.

\uf02dStrong, proven negotiation skills would be an advantage.

\uf02dResults oriented with the ability to facilitate and ensure Country GM and other Leadership members are best placed to achieve success. Be optimistic but realistic in your approach.

\uf02dMust have a significant in-depth proficiency in all aspects of accounting and finance, including technical aspects (SOX and USGAAP included).

\uf02dAbility to quickly establish credibility with diverse audiences and be perceived as a leader yet is hands-on when necessary. Consistently retains a sense of the bigger picture'.

\uf02dPossess an open and transparent approach to working with colleagues, combined with the ability to work and succeed in a non-political way.

\uf02dExperience in life sciences, healthcare, biotech would be an advantage, as would exposure to US corporate environments.

\uf02dAn in-depth knowledge of Oracle, SAP or an equivalent ERP system and proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
