Job Description
Position Summary:

The Chicago Medical School is seeking individuals to teach pathology. They will primarily be responsible for teaching Pathology in the systems-based medical curriculum. The individual will also be working as part of a team to develop interactive and didactic team-based learning activities as well as interacting with and mentoring medical students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach courses in Pathology to students in an interprofessional setting
  • Mentor students in aspects of the curriculum and in their professional development
  • Provide excellent teaching
  • Provide formative and summative assessment questions
  • Embrace and promote diversity
  • Other duties as assigned by the Education Director, Pathology

Required Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited MD, DO, or DPM program
  • Ability to utilize a computer training management system
  • Ability to embrace diversity
  • An official transcript for the highest degree earned and also the highest clinical degree earned, if different and relevant to the position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable / Dependable
  • Organized
  • Interest in the learning and well-being of the students
  • Must be able to achieve a background check clearance
  • Must have proof of COVID19 vaccination or a university approved exemption.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching through facilitation of interactive student-centered case discussion
  • Experience in medical education curriculum development
  • Experience with other educational or healthcare-related accrediting bodies
  • Knowledge of current educational theory and methodology
  • Ability to translate core competencies and learning objectives into an effective medical education curriculum
