Simulation Center Director/Instructor 21218

Job ResponsibilitiesThe Simulation Center Director is responsible for directing, overseeing, and managing the day to day operations of the Simulation Center. Under limited supervision of the associate dean this position will paticipate actively in student development; academic advising; student recruitment; and, as appropriate, job placement. Provides lab tours and demonstrations; provide tutoring focusing on remediation of skills and use of simulation as needed; design, develop and conduct remediation labs and open labs; enhance the students' on-campus lab experiences for purposes of increasing retention and graduation rates in the ADN program; assess student needs and design individual and group activities that facilitate learning and collaborate with nursing and health sciences faculty to maximize utilization of simulation labs and advance the use of all levels of simulation in the nursing program.

Minimum and Additional RequirementsTo qualify for this position you must have a master's degree in nursing. Candidates must also have a current SC RN license and a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.
Preferred QualificationsPrevious teaching experience in a nursing program and simulation experience preferred. Clinical experience and knowledge base consistent with assigned teaching responsibilities are essential. The successful candidate will have the ability to assess student needs and provide an environment conducive to learning-related course objectives. The ability to perform essential motor skills and functions, gross and fine, is sufficient to provide safe and effective nursing care to include the ability to lift 50 pounds. Mobility skills include the ability to sufficiently move from room to room; a full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity; and hand-eye coordination. Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology and manage multiple responsibilities under pressure. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are critical.
