ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a- highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join the CLIA-regulated Clinical Pharmacogenomics (PGx) lab in Groton, CT.

The individual will provide genomic and RNA assay support for specialty and exploratory biomarkers across the Pfizer portfolio. The individual will demonstrate your growing knowledge of RNA/DNA biomarker methodologies related to genomics platforms (genomics, transcriptomics etc.), sample processing techniques, and data interpretation. The Senior Associate Scientist will provide laboratory support for clinical biomarker assay development and high-complexity CLIA Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field including molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, biology or similar with 3+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment or preferably Master's Degree with +0 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, think critically, prioritize tasks, have good organization skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of different NGS platforms (DNA and RNA Sequencing, targeted DNA/RNASeq, amplicon-based sequencing, Single-cell sequencing or other NGS assays)
  • Experience working in a CLIA-regulated environment
  • Experience with nucleic acid isolation techniques
  • Analytical and NGS pipeline processing experience
  • Industry experience


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs and operate in a lab environment
  • Must be able to wear standard PPE (lab coat, safety shoes/glasses/etc. )
