The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an outstanding clinician at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Integrated Medical Science to serve in its primary care clinical practice. The position will involve clinical work in the outpatient setting and includes academic opportunities for teaching residents and students, scholarship and research. Faculty with expertise in outpatient primary care trained in either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine may apply. Clinical work will include providing women's health services, additional training and proficiency in this area is expected. Administrative leadership opportunities are available for qualified applicants who have had medical administrative leadership roles in the outpatient setting. The primary care practice is two years old and growing rapidly. Candidates must be ready to help grow and develop the practice through marketing and community engagement efforts.

The College operates a non-concierge primary care practice to meet the needs of the surrounding community. The practice is located adjacent to the FAU campus and one of our major teaching hospitals, and currently has a full-time physician and nurse practitioner and geriatric medicine consultations available. The newly established Marcus Institute for Integrative Health occupies space on the same floor, immediately adjacent to the primary care practice.

Minimum Qualification:

M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of assistant professor or higher. Board certification from an accredited board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is required by time of application.

The preferred candidate has an interest in providing outpatient primary care in an academic setting and has considerable experience in providing care for patients in Managed Medicare plans. Training in Women's health, including but not limited to well visits, menopausal management, contraception (IUD placement) is expected. The ability to effectively communicate with different members of the healthcare system as well as a variety of learners from diverse backgrounds is required. Applicants with teaching experience with students/residents, experience with administrative organization/leadership of outpatient practices, and/or clinical research/scholarship experience will be most competitive.
