The Center for Advancing Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research (CAIPER) (https://ipe.asu.edu/) within Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation (http://nursingandhealth.asu.edu) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow focused on research in interprofessionalism. The CAIPER Postdoctoral Researcher will design, organize, and conduct specialized and advanced research projects in interprofessional practice and education (IPE) using established scientific protocols and procedures, and in some cases designing new protocols; summarize findings and publish results in research journals; and apply for internal and external funding opportunities. This position will also immediately step into ongoing projects focused on advancing social science-based theories and concepts in the IPE field(s). Interests in humility, empathy, interpersonal connectivity, team-dynamics as well as enhancing belonging, inclusion (on a structural-level) are highly valued for this position.

Examples of Duties
  • Design and implement research protocols for IPE related projects, with a focus on evaluation and assessment of current and proposed programs, seminars, courses, and events.
  • Collect, prepare and analyze research data; maintain computer database of research data; tabulate and display data for presentation in research conferences and for manuscript preparation; use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data.
  • Collaborate with CAIPER Director and other interprofessional scholars on efforts for increased efficiency; participate in training of colleagues and students as needed.
  • Identify, execute, and submit IPE-related proposals for internal and external funding
  • Search and review pertinent scientific literature as needed.

Expectations
  • Create and implement an Individual Development Plan (IDP) in collaboration with mentor(s), complete with goals, expectations, and related timelines.
  • Participate in scheduled reviews to evaluate IDP progress including career development, career planning, and career readiness for a future tenure track faculty position.

Qualifications and Characteristics

Minimum qualifications
  • PhD in social, behavioral, or health-related sciences (e.g., nursing, public health, health communication, sociology, psychology) from an accredited university.
  • Experience with SPSS, SAS or an equivalent statistical software package

Desired qualifications
  • Prior research experience through involvement in research projects or research practica.
  • Experience with qualitative methods and qualitative data analysis
  • Evidence of effective communication skills through teaching or professional presentation experience and/or professional publications.

This position is located at the Arizona State University at the Downtown Phoenix campus. This postdoctoral fellowship position is for two years with the second year contingent upon the fellow's successful progress as outlined on his/her IDP.
