The Department of Education Studies at Stephen F. Austin State University invites applications for a nine-month tenure track assistant professor position in the special education program to start August 2022.
The rank of assistant professor is held by an individual who demonstrates the capability to produce research, scholarly and creative accomplishments, teach effectively, and provide service to the academic and general communities. This faculty position's responsibilities include contribution to undergraduate and/or graduate programs through teaching, scholarship, creative accomplishment and service. Required knowledge, skills and abilities include the ability to teach face-to face, hybrid, and/or online classes; use instructional technology; work with and embrace diverse learners; appropriately and effectively communicate; and demonstrate effective curriculum instructional and assessment practices.
The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in special education; terminal degree in special education, teaching experience in EC-12, certification as an educational diagnostician (preferred), background in applied behavior analysis and effective instruction (preferred). ABD candidates may be considered if doctorate is earned prior to start date.
SFA is a comprehensive, regional university located in Nacogdoches, Texas. Enrolling approximately 12,500 students, SFA offers more than 80 undergraduate majors and 120 areas of study within six academic colleges - business, education, fine arts, forestry and agriculture, sciences and mathematics, and liberal and applied arts.
