The University of Michigan Department of Orthopaedic Surgery's Division of Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery is looking to add to our team.� We seek an academic surgeon with shoulder reconstruction fellowship training and a demonstrated commitment to research and teaching.� We can offer a wide variety of clinical and research opportunities that are centered at MedSport, the University of Michigan Sports Medicine Center.� MedSport serves a diverse community from children with sports injuries to the active senior, from recreational to the elite athlete.� The Center offers orthopaedic and primary care sports medicine care, along with athletic training and rehabilitation services, and presents excellent opportunity for clinical and basic science research.� We provide team coverage to the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, USA Hockey, and regional high school athletic teams.� If you are interested in a challenging surgical practice in an excellent environment with endless research opportunities, please contact us.

Candidates should have an M.D. and be board certified, or eligible for certification in orthopaedic surgery; should have completed an ASES-recognized�shoulder and elbow fellowship program.� Candidate will be expected to seek membership and advancement in the American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES).� They should hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan.

Candidates should demonstrate outstanding teaching and clinical care abilities and have associated research interests as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals and evidence of ability to obtain external funding.

It is desirable for candidates to have experience and skill caring for patients from diverse backgrounds and working with/mentoring diverse populations in academic training.
