The Department of Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences at Utah State University is seeking a Professional Practice Assistant/Associate Professor as a veterinary anatomic pathologist. This is a full-time non-tenure track position with diagnostic (75%), teaching (20%), and academic service (5%) responsibilities. Estimated start date is July 1, 2021.
Diagnostic pathologist (75%): Work collaboratively with other pathologists in the Utah Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (UVDL) in the necropsy and biopsy services. Serve as a section head for one of the UVDL testing sections.Teaching (20%): Provide instruction to first- and second-year veterinary medical students within the veterinary medical curriculum.Service (5%): Typical academic service (committees, boards, etc.).Department/College Highlights:Laboratory: The UVDL is fully accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians and is a member of the National Animal Health Laboratory Network. The laboratory provides testing services in support of both production agriculture and companion animals.School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM):The USU SVM is part of the Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Utah Regional Program in Veterinary Medicine, and works with first- and second-year veterinary medical students.Service: Through the USU Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences Department and is typical.
Minimum QualificationsA DVM or equivalent degree and board eligible or board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) in anatomic pathology.Preferred QualificationsBoard certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) in anatomic pathology.Demonstrated expertise in veterinary toxicologic pathology.
