Assistant Professor of Anthropology

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2022. We seek a broadly trained anthropological archaeologist who has a strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences setting. The individual will be expected to teach Introduction to Anthropology (4 fields) and contribute to the archaeology concentration within anthropology. They will also be invited to offer courses for the archaeology major, as well as other interdisciplinary programs across campus. We seek an anthropologist with recognized research interests in the archaeology of the Southeastern U.S (period and methodological focus are open). Successful candidates should have an ongoing research program and a Ph.D. in Anthropology by the time of appointment.
