Gettysburg College invites applications for a three-year Visiting Assistant Professor in the Health Sciences Department beginning August 2022. Teaching responsibilities will include sophomore-level courses in human anatomy and physiology I and II (lecture and laboratory components), with the possibility of teaching upper-level courses in an area of expertise. The teaching load for this position will be three courses each semester (lecture or laboratory equivalent). Responsibilities will also include academic advising of majors. While research is not an expected component for this position, the college will help to support a personal research agenda.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or be ABD) in human anatomy, human physiology, or a related discipline. Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred. Candidates must be committed to teaching in the liberal arts tradition and demonstrate through their teaching and/or scholarship that they can contribute to the diversity and inclusive excellence of our community.
