Senior Scientist/Principal Investigator - Bioanalysis (DMPK)

Arcus Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented candidate for the position of Senior Scientist/Principal Investigator in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Department. The successful applicant will manage our small molecule bioanalytical group and represent DMPK on project teams to advance our discovery and development programs.

Core responsibilities:
  • Mange the small molecule bioanalytical group to support pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and toxicology studies; ensure data quality and meeting timelines
  • Develop and trouble-shoot LC-MS/MS methods for quantitation of small molecules in various biological matrices
  • Evaluate and implement new bioanalytical techniques
  • Provide scientific oversight to method transfer, development, and validation at CROs
  • Serve as DMPK representative on project teams - Identify and address critical ADME-centered issues; Provide guidance to project teams on lead optimization; Characterize, select, and advance clinical candidates with appropriate ADME properties
  • Author nonclinical PK section and DMPK study reports for regulatory submissions
  • Manage and mentor research associates


Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or related discipline with over 3 years of industry experience
  • Extensive in-depth experience developing and applying LC-MS/MS based methods to support pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and toxicology studies
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of principles of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, attention to details and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with effective time-management skills
  • Experience managing research associates
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
