*Advertised Job Summary:*The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management (HRTM) at the University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor with primary concentration in Tourism Management.

This is a 9-month position that consists of responsibilities reflected as follows: develop and sustain a program of research excellence leading to publications in premier outlets and attraction of external funding; teach courses in Tourism Management and others as assigned; collaborate with the Richardson Family SmartState Center of Economic Excellence in Tourism on external funding projects; serve on School, College, or University committees as needed; provide mentoring and guidance to students in the major; and contribute to the School's general academic mission and vision in substantive ways.
*Required Education and Experience:*Earned doctorate in Hospitality or Tourism Management, or a related discipline by the start date of employment (ABDs considered); primary teaching and research interests in tourism management;secondary teaching or research interests in one or more of the following: destination management, crisis management, research methods; an active research agenda with a demonstrated ability to generate impactful, peer-reviewed research in premier outlets; and strong evidence of (or potential to attract) external funding.

The appointment start date will be either January 1, 2022 or August 16, 2022. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
