Position Summary:Within the academic area of the college, performs the duties of a full-time faculty member and, in addition, plans, coordinates and supervises a specialized degree or certificate program. Working supervisory level.
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:M.F.A. degree in Graphics, Digital Media, or Art

* Four (4) years teaching experience (96+ credits).

Two (2) years' experience teaching college-level courses, specifically involving the following Graphic Design and/or Digital Media, Gaming (48 credits).* One (1) year experience teaching at a community college (24credits.
* Experience in curriculum development.
* Experience with online instruction and delivery methods such as Blackboard.
* Experience using CSCC's Banner system.
Example of Job Duties:Under the direction of Chair of Humanities, this Assistant Professor is expected to teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year and will be responsible for teaching a range primarily in Graphics/Digital Media/Art courses. (Delivery systems can be lecture, hybrid and/or online). Evaluating and assessing student learning, providing student support and academic advising, planning, and executing program-related events, assisting with program reviews, developing curriculum, and periodically evaluating teaching materials, attending workshops and or conferences to maintain currency in profession and field. Per collective bargaining agreement, 6 credits out to the 30 (3 credits per semester) are released to perform administrative functions. Teaching schedule may include both day and evening classes.The Program Coordinator is also expected to recruit, advise and retain students in these areas; select appropriate part-time instructors; schedule the program courses; hiring and evaluating faculty; establishing and cultivating partnerships with local organizations and employers; arranging and supervising internships; assessing and improving the program; and other such duties as may be appropriately assigned to a Program Coordinator in accordance within the contract hours and with regard to the collective bargaining agreement.
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Starting Salary:$64,291 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
