Program Director/Assistant or Associate Professor of Medical Laboratory Sciences

The School of Allied Health within the College of Health at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) seeks an individual who will work in a collaborative/interdisciplinary teaching environment in the delivery of Allied Health courses within the UAA Medical Laboratory Science program. The program director will be responsible for the structure as well as the daily operation of the program, including organization, administration, periodic review and evaluation, continued development, quality improvement and general effectiveness of program curricula. Faculty responsibilities will include advising to prospective and current Medical Laboratory Science students, didactic and laboratory education to students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Science program. This position supports the University of Alaska bipartite mission of performing teaching and service.

This position is a full-time, tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The appointment period is nine months, from August to May, each academic year.

This position is responsible for: (1) oversight and administration of Medical Laboratory Sciences programs, (2) teaching, (3) directing student learning and assessing student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains, and (4) course revision, academic assessment, curriculum improvement, test evaluation, academic advising, program development and University committee participation.
