Senior/Principal Scientist

Our biotech client is seeking a senior-level Scientist with a strong background in Medicinal Chemistry to join their growing team and lead drug discovery projects under a virtual/CRO model.

It is a small and incredibly fast-moving organization in greater Boston, which is creating targeted treatments for cancer resistance. This role involves designing small molecules and applying structure-based drug design in the kinase inhibitor space, which is key for the company's continued success toward their mission.

Duties of the position:

• Drive structure-based drug discovery on kinase projects and medicinal chemistry efforts
• Design small molecules to enable and progress projects, from hit identification all the way to candidate selection
• Enable new target selection by driving exploratory chemistry efforts
• Manage outsourced chemistry resources: establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external providers

Qualifications:

• PhD in organic chemistry. 5+ years of medicinal chemistry experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industries
• Strong experience applying molecular modeling to drug design in the kinase inhibitor space
• Experience in managing outsourced chemistry teams
