Bellingham Technical College invites applications for a non-tenure track position as a Diesel Technology Instructor. This is a temporary full-time, non-tenure track, leave replacement position to begin January 4, 2022, and continue through March 24, 2022. However, consideration would also be given to someone that may only be able to work part-time.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

The instructor will be required to use a combination of classroom/laboratory instruction and hands-on experience to teach a shop simulation winter quarter, 2022. This course simulates a diesel technology maintenance/repair shop environment, with course topics covering safety, rigging, drilling, threading, thread repair, strengths of materials, materials identification, metalworking, cutting and welding and the documentation of these skills with a student created learning portfolio.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of four years recent work experience in the Diesel field. Ability and desire to support a diverse workplace and educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching or training experience.

Supplemental Information

Salary will be determined according to the current negotiated working agreement. (~$55.77 per hour, based on faculty workload scheduled for winter qtr). Schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. This position works on campus.
